چکیده
For achieving efficient data aggregation and energy supply in Internet of Things, this paper investigates the optimal design for an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-aided backscatter sensor network with over-the-air computation (AirComp). To ensure accuracy aggregation, presents a mean-squared error (MSE) minimization problem via jointly optimizing normalization factor, power splitting ratios devices (BDs), phase shifts IRS. Inspired by block coordinate descent technique, we propose alternating optimization method to solve formulated non-convex problem. Specifically, derive factor closed-form expressions, exploit variable substitution technique semi-definite relaxation address shift subproblem. Simulation results demonstrate significant MSE reduction achieved proposed method, comparison other benchmark methods.

Over-the-air Function Computation in Sensor Networks
Many sensor applications are interested in computing a function over measurements (e.g., sum, average, max) as opposed to collecting all sensor data. Today, such data aggregation is done in a cluster-head. Sensor nodes transmit their values sequentially to a cluster-head node, which calculates the aggregation function and forwards it to the base station. In contrast, this paper explores the pos...
متن کاملEfficient Over-the-air Remote Reprogramming of Wireless Sensor Networks
Over-the-air reprogramming is an important aspect of managing large wireless sensor networks. However, reprogramming deployed sensor networks poses significant challenges due to the energy, processing power and memory limitation of sensor nodes. For improved energy efficiency, a reprogramming mechanism should use less transmission and flash writing overhead. Past research has proposed different...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward
In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...
متن کاملTransactions Papers Anti-Collision Backscatter Sensor Networks
Sensor collision (interference) is studied in a large network of low bit-rate sensors that communicate via backscatter, i.e. modulate the reflection of a common carrier transmitted by a central reader. Closed-form analysis is provided, quantifying sensor collision (interference) in high-density, backscatter sensor networks (BSN), as a function of number of tags and aggregate bandwidth. Analysis...
متن کاملCentdian Computation for Sensor Networks
This paper focuses on the centdian problem in a cactus network where a cactus network is a connected undirected graph, and any two simple cycles in the graph have at most one node in common. The cactus network has important applications for wireless sensor networks when a tree topology might not be applicable and for extensions to the ring architecture. The centdian criterion represents a conve...
